It’s not the lemonade

Police apologize for shutting down girls’ lemonade stand. A couple of pre-teen kids were

“…preparing to sell lemonade to people heading to a car show. But an officer told them the sales were prohibited by city ordinance.”

Well, okay, the police apologized; but that’s not really the problem.

“The law went into effect last month and bars licensed vendors from selling food and drinks within a two-block radius of a special event.”

That’s the problem. What the kids were doing really was against the law, and should not be. (I assume they mean unlicensed vendors, but these days you never know.)
