Not quite all the news

Here’s an experiment: search BBC for march for life 2013; I found nothing; maybe you’ll do better. Then search BBC for march for gun control. You don’t actually need to search at all, because that one is right on the front page: US gun debate: Washington rally for more gun control. According to their website, the people supporting gun control drew 3,266 confirmed marchers. At the march opposing abortion there seem to have 300,000 — 500,000 people.

If legacy news organizations aren’t going to actually report the news any more, there’s little point in reading them. In time, people will find other ways to find out what’s happening. Here’s one: Washington gun control march dwarfed by March for Life (except in media coverage).
